Joe Reali was born on January 28, 1989, into an Italian-American family on Long Island in New York state. He was the youngest of four children, raised in an environment deeply rooted in the Catholic faith.
His passion for American football was as strong as his devotion to faith. He was a charismatic player who inspired others with his attitude on the field. Outside of sports, Joe was known for his daily attendance at Holy Mass, praying the Rosary, and his involvement in parish life.
He was an ordinary teenager with his own dreams and problems. What set him apart was his above-average faith in God, which he was not afraid to show and share with others.

His life, though short, had a tremendous impact on the community. After his sudden death in 2015, thousands attended his funeral, sharing stories of his dedication to others and deep faith.
In his honor, the Joseph Mario Reali Council 16261 of the Knights of Columbus was established in Woodbury, New York, which continues his legacy through charitable and spiritual activities.

In 2014, an excellent film was made about the life of this energetic and faithful young man, whose story I hope will be an inspiration for me and for you, just as it is for me.
I trust that his informational process toward beatification will soon begin. I also hope it won’t take as long as it did in the case of Pier Giorgio Frassati. 🙂 [www.piergiorgiofrassati.pl](https://www.piergiorgiofrassati.pl)
