Life can be really tough – I know something about that. Already in elementary school, not everything was easy. There were failures, there were tears, there were days when a person simply didn’t want to get out of bed. In high school, new challenges arose – rebellion, a lot of studying. Then college – a time demanding not only intellectually, but also in life. A time of decisions that affect the future, but also a time of doubt, fear, fatigue.
In all these stages, there was something that gave me strength and gave meaning – prayer.
Not necessarily some ideal, learned formula, but an honest conversation with God. Sometimes it was the Chaplet, later prayed daily, sometimes the Rosary, sometimes simply silence with a heart full of questions and doubts.
Prayer didn’t solve problems right away. But it changed my attitude. It gave a different perspective. It taught patience, hope, trust. It showed that failure is not the end of the world, but part of the journey.
Meanwhile, looking at today’s youth, I feel sadness. Many young people don’t know how to pray. They don’t know the basics of their faith, they don’t understand that you can trust God and that it has real meaning. When difficulties come – and they do, like to everyone – they try to escape. Often into substances, parties, the virtual world, sex. Increasingly also into despair and depression. Decisions to take one’s own life become a dramatic cry: “I can’t cope, there’s no hope or future for me! It’s over!”
And yet life, despite everything, is a miracle. Even in suffering, even in pain. You just need to know how to stop, try to seek God and trust Him, instead of drowning out the silence. You need to know that you don’t have to be perfect to pray – you just need to be yourself. And if someone learns to hold a rosary in their hand instead of a bottle, to say “Jesus, I trust in You” instead of “I can’t take it anymore,” then light will appear in the darkness.
That’s why I give you my word: life is a miracle. Not always easy. But worth living, because amid the darkness, there is much light in life.
Don’t run away – start talking. Perhaps with the One who knows your heart better than you do yourself.
